Vascular Ultrasound
Vascular Ultrasound is a painless and safe way to assess internal body structures.
It uses sound waves we cannot hear to take images of internal body structures.
When ultrasound examination is done, a probe touches your skin where gel has been placed. You feel nothing.
The entire process takes 10-30 minutes.
Some of the reasons we get a vascular ultrasound is :
- Finding out why someone had a stroke
- To check if you have a blood clot in our legs
- To determine why your legs are swollen
- To determine why you have pain in your leg
- To see why you have varicose veins
- To see why you have a sore on your leg or foot that won’t heal (especially if you have diabetes)
- To see if you have an aneurysm
